Nectar Yoga Studios offers a variety of challenging and inspirational classes designed to meet you where you are. Our classes are rooted in the vinyasa flow yoga and traditional hatha yoga systems, and provide the foundation for staying balanced in body and mind.

Each class is described as level 1, 2, or 1/2 (or mixed level) to help you choose the pace that’s right for your needs. 

Level 1

Learn or refine yoga postures to build strength, stamina, and flexibility. Slower pace, when compared to “mixed level” or “level 2” classes, allows for more time to explore postures and apply modifications while using props. These options are ideal for those who simply prefer a lower intensity, are recovering/healing, or are newer to yoga.

Level 2

Take your practice to the next level as you explore intermediate to advanced variations of traditional yoga postures. Find a more vigorous practice overall to help you stretch your limits and strengthen your asana, with modifications offered. A regular yoga practice is strongly encouraged.

Level 1/2 (or Mixed Level)

Newer students can refine yoga postures while veteran yogis can play with variations in all of our mixed level classes. Pacing is intermediate, with plenty of options for increasing or decreasing the level of challenge. Any level of participant is warmly welcomed, and mixed level class options are ideal for those who are currently physically active or have some yoga experience.

Blue Nectar Classes

VINYASA FLOW YOGA - LEVEL 1/2

An energizing flow yoga class that links breath and movement while maintaining a balanced focus on alignment. Students will find sun salutations, challenging sequences, backbends, arm balances, deeper stretches, and more. Options and modifications are provided, so you can explore the full mind/body experience. Mixed level (1/2), familiarity with basic flow yoga postures is encouraged.

HATHA YOGA - LEVEL 1/2

With a focus on alignment, increase body awareness, strength and flexibility while refining foundational yoga postures. This class will also introduce more demanding postures that are sure to increase stamina. Slower pacing (when compared to vinyasa flow classes) allows for more time spent holding and aligning postures, often with props. Expect breath work and meditation. Mixed level (1/2), appropriate for all levels of participants.

ROOKIE VINYASA FLOW - LEVEL 1

Not everyone wants to be called a beginner, but we all have to start somewhere. Whether you’re just starting a yoga practice or prefer a foundational focus, this class will give you the physical and mental grounding for a safe, strong, injury-free vinyasa flow yoga practice. Learn or refine yoga postures, while syncing movement and breath. Level 1, yet appropriate for all levels of participants

YIN YOGA - LEVEL 1

Yin yoga is a practice designed to stimulate the connective tissues and fascia. Yin postures invite surrender to the experience of holding each posture for 3-5 minutes while maintaining an awareness of the breath. The support of blankets, bolsters, and blocks are used when needed to accommodate each person's individual and unique needs of their physical body.

PRENATAL FLOW YOGA - LEVEL 1/2

BNY prenatal flow yoga has the active woman in mind. Moms-to-be at any stage of pregnancy are encouraged to attend to feel the amazing benefits associated with a regular yoga practice during pregnancy. Focus on flowing yoga poses, syncing body and breath; stretch out the sticky spots, and enjoy a few well-deserved relaxing postures. Use yoga as a tool to prepare for labor and childbirth, and build a network of support. Mixed level (1/2), appropriate for all levels of prenatal participants. Birth partners are also welcome to attend class!

TRX YOGA - LEVEL 1/2

TRX, the unmistakable yellow and black industry leader in suspension training, stands for Total-Body Resistance Exercise. TRX is a unique piece of fitness training equipment that utilizes one’s own body as the machine. Fusing TRX with traditional yoga techniques helps beginners thru more advanced students build strength in their yoga practice and conquer unfamiliar or intimidating poses. It also helps customize an individual’s yoga practice to specialized goals. Mixed level (1/2), appropriate for all levels of yoga students.

CANDLELIGHT VINYASA - LEVEL 1/2

An elegant flow yoga class set to candlelight that links breath and movement while maintaining a balanced focus on alignment. Students will find sun salutations, creative sequences, backbends, arm balances, deeper stretches, and more. Options and modifications are provided, in this flowing class designed to nourish body and mind. Mixed level (1/2), familiarity with basic flow yoga postures is encouraged.

RESTORATIVE YOGA - LEVEL 1

Your necessary dose of rest and recovery. Most of us know how to push really hard – it’s the slowing down that’s often difficult. Find a grounding blend of supported restorative poses, breathwork, and relaxation techniques that will relieve stress and tension, nourishing body and mind. Class is Level 1, appropriate for all levels of participants.

HOT VINYASA FLOW – LEVEL 1/2

An energizing and powerful flowing yoga class that continuously and creatively links breath and movement while maintaining a balanced focus on alignment. Participants will find focused breathwork, sun salutations, challenging and fun sequences, backbends, arm balances, deeper stretches, and more. Options and modifications are provided so you can explore the full mind/body experience. Class is taught in a heated room (95°F) with music.

HOT POWER YOGA - LEVEL 1/2

Class design is inspired by the Baptiste Journey into Power sequence. This is a vigorous approach to flow yoga moving intentionally through a constructed series of postures. Class focuses on alignment principles while building strength in body and mind - focusing on movement and breath. Some of our Hot Power Yoga classes will follow the sequence more precisely, while others will borrow from its essence and offer variations. Class is mixed level and basic familiarity with yoga poses is encouraged. Class is taught in a heated room (95°F) without music.

HOT FLOW SET - LEVEL 1/2

This class is a set sequence inspired by the Barkan Method. Each offering is consistent, and designed to warm the muscles and joints for a deeper stretch while building strength, flexibility and endurance. Class begins with standing deep breathing, followed by sun salutations, moving into a static standing series, and closing with a floor series. Class is mixed level and basic familiarity with yoga poses is encouraged. Class is taught in a heated room (95°F) with music.

HOT 26 + 2 - LEVEL 1/2

Class design is 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises designed to get you fit, healthy and flexible from the inside out. Class is always the same, but of course, it always feels different! This shorter 60-minute version of this well-known sequence will move slightly faster and do fewer sets. Prepare to work hard and to sweat a lot! Class is mixed level and basic familiarity with yoga poses is encouraged. Class is taught in a heated room (100°F +) without music.

WARM ROOKIE VINYASA FLOW – LEVEL 1

Whether you’re just starting a yoga practice or simply prefer a foundational focus, this class will give you the physical and mental grounding for a safe, strong, injury-free flow yoga practice. Learn or refine yoga postures, while syncing movement and breath. Class is Level 1, yet appropriate for all levels of participants. Class is taught in a warm room (80°F) with music.

WARM YIN-YASA YOGA – LEVEL 1

Practice both yin and yang styles of yoga in class, creating the perfect balance in body and mind. Spend part of class in an energizing flow practice, connecting breath to movement and increasing overall flexibility and strength. The other portion of class is spent in grounding yin postures, which are held longer and designed to open the dense connective tissues of the body. Class is Level 1, appropriate for all levels of participants. Class is taught in a warm room (80°F) with music.

WARM FLOW & RESTORE YOGA – LEVEL 1

Most of us know how to push really hard – it’s the slowing down that’s often difficult. Spend part of class in a gentle flowing yoga practice, and the other portion in rest and recovery postures designed to deeply relax the body and mind. Class is Level 1, appropriate for all levels of participants. Class is taught in a warm room (80°F) with music.
